Trio Cans/Mitch Wiesen(Illustration for Design)/Fall 2024
APPROACH
Trio Cans (Approach) - Palea is the energy drink design I created for the trio cans project. Initially I tried creating fruit style characters fighting and working out in the gym but it never came out like I wanted. While I was sitting in one of the design seminars taking notes, it dawned on me to use animals to represent flavor profiles for each can. The lion represents Manic Mango. The bear represents Berry Blast and the gorilla represents Citrus Rampage. I used tracing paper and colored pencils to illustrate, then I scanned those images on the computer. With image trace I took those images into Illustrator, added different colors and took some away if the silhouette wasn't to my liking. I love the combinations that Redbull uses when introducing new and seasonal flavors so I really wanted the color combinations to work.
